NEVCC embarked on an Informational Road Trip from November 1, 2018, before their official launch. The road trip began from Springfield, MA, at 8:00 a.m. where community leaders and veterans from around New England gathered for the announcement of the launch of the New England Veterans Chamber of Commerce.  Michael Zacchea, Executive Director of the United States Veterans Chamber of Commerce (USVCC), the Chairman of the Advisory Committee on Veterans Business Affairs for the SBA and a nationally recognized thought leader on veterans’ affairs and advocacy, provided an overview about the USVCC and then spoke about how the NEVCC and USVCC as well as other State Veteran Chambers will work together to benefit veterans, military and their family members.Lisa Ducharme, revealed the launch plans and provided an overview of her vision.  Following brief comments, we had a round table conversation. Springfield was selected for this meeting as the Enterprise Center is home to the SBA, MSBDC and SCORE who will partner to provide support for veteran businesses.

“We are excited to announce the launch of New England Veterans Chamber of Commerce in November. We are dedicated to the betterment of veteran, military, and family-owned businesses in New England and we will support them with all the necessary networking and resources for their growth”, stated Lisa Ducharme, the Executive Director of NEVCC.

“We salute our military, veterans, and families for their invaluable contributions in protecting the country and keeping us safe. NEVCC is our humble endeavor to help the military and veteran entrepreneurs of New England to start or scale up their business visions. For businesses who are already at scale, there are many times in which they need a resource, but do not know where to go.  Whether you are a military or a veteran, or a family member entrepreneur or a veteran-friendly business, or a customer- we will connect you with all the resources you need to be successful.”

According to the statements of Ms. Ducharme, NEVCC is presently creating a directory of resources for military and veteran business owners in New England. The organization is soon to launch a “Buy Veteran New England” campaign to promote veteran-owned business establishments across the region and the directory will be shared to potential customers to help them find a veteran-owned business near them. Roundtable networking events will also be hosted to connect the military and veteran-owned business in New England with customers, community and resources.

The NEVCCwill be the hub of veteran entrepreneurship, and provide New England veteran, military, and family member businesses with the education, tools, resources and networks necessary to launch and/or run successful businesses. Connect, veteran, military, and family-owned businesses in New England through advocacy and professional and community networking. We do this by facilitating workshops and trainings with organizations and individuals that are experts in their field, such as Quabbin Mediation, VETRN, SCORE, SBA, and VBOCs.
