It’s been a while since fans heard from Lady Nancy Jay Annan Mensah “Lady Jay”, and the singer and songwriter decided to end their wait by treating them to new music at the dawn of 2019. We Tried ft. Ria Boss is the name of the songstress’ smashing new single, produced by Koovie and released under Lady Jay’s new label, Wahala Entertainment, which is now available on all major music platforms. The new single was quickly followed by the release of its music video, which is set in an enticing dream state and can arouse even the best of us, and sets the tone for the imagery and themes that will characterize Lady Jay’s new visual work.

“We Tried is about putting all your effort in trying to love that special someone, but instead of love, all you get is hurt,” said Lady Jay. “I am sure fans are going to love the track as much as I do, and I promise them that We Tried is just the beginning of a banging 2019!”

While her first single and video Venus feat. Sarkodie was released 2 years ago, Lady Jay did not, in fact, take a musical hiatus, seeing as during her short absence she left the country to study music in Canada. Lady Jay, who was part of the pidgin music group which included artists like King Ayisoba, YaaPono, Wanlov, upon returning to Ghana, signed to Wahala Entertainment, a new entertainment company based in Accra, and is fervently working on exciting new music projects.

The Ghanaian songbird will once again showcase her unique voice with its sweet sultry undertones in her long awaited single This is Africa, which is set to be released later in the year. The single is intended to be an “anthem for Africa” and will be a major production that will feature many instruments from around the world. The single has also been backed by the Harmonious Chorale Choir; Kwan Pa; an Orchestra, and many industry professionals, and is expected with much anticipation.
