Jacksonville, FL – June 3, 2019 – Hurricane season is officially here and early forecasts are calling for above average activity in terms of actual named tropical storms and hurricanes for 2019. Wimberly Claims Service wants you to be prepared this year and suggests you follow this checklist to get ready. Remember, it’s never too soon to prepare for hurricane season.

• Review your insurance policy and make sure it is completely up to date.
• Prep your house – make sure hurricane shutters and/or panels are in good condition and secured properly.
• Stock up early on supplies by purchasing a few non-perishable goods each week.
• Keep copies of any important documentation (insurance policies, birth certificates, passports, etc.) inside a waterproof bag and store it in a safe location.
• Have a plan for everyone in your family, including children, pets and elderly family members and review it with them to insure proper safety and communication.
