LET HER OUT // DARKCOAST
Set your evil twin free – ‘LET HER OUT’ premieres in theaters October 20, 2017 in 10 major USA cities.

Los Angeles, CA – October 12, 2017 –

How close can two people really be?

Twins have always been an interesting topic in the genre of horror; questioning their closeness, the supposed psychic connection or twin telepathy and the supernatural ability to finish each other’s sentences.

DarkCoast’s theatrical release this fall’s must-see horror film, “LET HER OUT” begins October 20th in 10 major US cities, with horror-fans anticipating their chance to experience Cody Calahan’s new twist on the ‘70s classic genre of “canuxploitation”.

By combining aspects of an emotional, psychological thriller with the visual, gruesome horror, Calahan has created a high-concept horror film, unlike any others of its kind.

The story of Helen in “LET HER OUT” sheds light on a real-life medical condition commonly referred to as “Vanishing Twin Syndrome”, as one twin is absorbed into the other while in utero. The sole survivor from the set of twins is often referred to as “twinless twin” in the US and “lone twin” in the UK.

When Helen awakes in the hospital after a traumatic accident, doctors discover a tumor growing, causing her to have unexplainable blackouts, bizarre hallucinations and night terrors.

As her tumor manifests, Helen uncovers the cause of such side effects – her “vanishing twin” is taking control over Helen’s body, as she violently fights to get out.

With support from networks such as the Lone Twin Network, “Vanishing Twin Syndrome” has become widely discussed. But it got DarkCoast thinking … what other real-life twin horror films exist?

Here’s our list of “CREEPING IT REAL: 3 REAL-LIFE TWIN HORRORS STORIES THAT WILL SCARE YOU TO THE BONE”:

1. “The Psychic Twins”

Identical twins, Linda and Terry Jamison are most famous for their prediction of the September 11 attacks on the World Trade Centre.

During a 2015 interview conducted by Sara Coughlin from Refinery29, she asked the twins, “Do you think your psychic powers stem from the fact that you’re twins?”

Terry replied with, “We have double the power, double the energy, because we’re twins. And we’re identical, which means we’re clones…we share the same DNA… We are a bifurcated soul. It’s one soul with two bodies.”

2. “The Silent Twins”

Noted as the “silent twins” because they spoke to each other in a secret language, Jennifer and June Gibbons were both declared psychopaths at the age of 18 when they carried out a two-woman crime spree during the ‘80s.

“They couldn’t exist apart, but they couldn’t lad a normal life together.” – Alyse Wax, Blumhouse.com

3. “The Swedish Twins”

Ursula and Sabina Eriksson “suffered a rare episode of ‘folie a deux’ or ‘shared psychosis’, in which delusional beliefs can be transited from one twin to another” (Jamie Flexman, Cracked). With erratic behavior after being kicked off a coach, the Eriksson twins ran from the police, and were proven almost to be invincible against all roadway vehicles and even the six policemen it took to subdue the twins.

After being detained, Sabina was released for acting “completely normal”, and later murdered a man that day.

“LET HER OUT” will take over the big screens nationwide beginning October 20th. See the film at select theaters: Laemmle Playhouse (Los Angeles, CA), Arizona Mills (Phoenix, AZ), Tower City Cinema (Cleveland, OH), Valley View 16 (Dallas, TX), Gulf Pointe 30 (Houston, TX), Livonia 20 (Detroit, MI), Barrywoods 24 (Kansas City, MO), Hoffman 22 (Washington, VA), Veterans 24 (Tampa, FL), and Soundview Cinemas (New York, NY).
